Restore + Sound w/ Alison Dive into the deep with a 90 minute restorative yoga and sound bath session. This class weaves restorative yoga with sound to bring the mind, body and soul into relaxation healing the emotional, energetic and physical body. Fully supported by bolsters, blankets and blocks, each posture is designed to open and release different parts of the body, targeting the parasympathetic nervous system which invites the body into deep rest. Once tucked into the postures, the sound experience will allow you to go deeper. Sound healing uses specific frequencies to target different areas of the body. Low frequencies can be beneficial for pain relief, while high frequencies can be helpful for anxiety and depression. They can also encourage the release of lower vibrations and stagnant energies in the body. In each restorative posture sound will be played for 5-10 minutes allowing the body to drop in and open up. The only movement in this session will be moving between postures. This process will be repeated throughout class, ending in a long soothing sound savasana.
